Ilocos Norte recognized at the 1st Gawad Bayanihan sa Pamumuhunan Awards
Published on: March 19, 2025By: Allyssa Charisse MagnoThe Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN) was recognized at the inaugural “Gawad Bayanihan sa Pamumunuhan: Pagkilala sa Natatanging Kahusayan sa Pagsusulong ng Pamumuhunan” on March 13, at the Malacañang Palace, further solidifying its role as a key driver of development.
The award, given by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Board of Investments honors the province’s outstanding efforts in facilitating strategic investments and successful implementation of Executive Order No. 18, otherwise known as Green Lanes for Strategic Investments.
Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos, accompanied by Ms. Rona Leigh Cheng-Bueno, Head of the Ilocos Norte Trade and Investment Promotions Office, and Mr. Richmond Sales, Public Services Officer received the award on behalf of the Provincial Government, expressing their gratitude to the national government and stakeholders for their continued support to Ilocos Norte.
During the awarding ceremony, President Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos Jr. highlighted the national government’s commitment to strengthening investment facilitation, revealing that nearly 190 strategic investments have been certified across key sectors, amounting to a total investment value exceeding P 4.6 trillion.
“The road to a more dynamic investment climate and more globally competitive ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ is paved with our shared commitment to ensuring that every investment translates into real, tangible benefits for our people.
Simula pa lamang po ito ng tuloy-tuloy na pagbabago sa ating mga sistema. Bilang Bagong Pilipino, palalawigin pa natin ang saklaw ng green lanes upang mas mapadali ang pag-usad ng ating mga proyektong may malaking ambag sa ating ekonomiya,” PBBM added.
Under the leadership of Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, the Provincial Government remains committed in fostering a more business-friendly environment by implementing programs and initiatives that attract investors, thus further sustaining the province’s status as the Renewable Energy Capital of Southeast Asia and a premier Commercial Hub of Northern Luzon.
