PGIN's PESO is region’s best

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte’s (PGIN) Public Employment Service Office (PESO) was recognized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region I as the "2022 Best PESO" in the Provincial Category.

The "2022 Best PESO" award validates the effectiveness of PESO's initiatives and highlights their remarkable impact on the community.

This recognition was earned as a result of the provincial government’s efforts and dedication to facilitating employment opportunities and fostering economic growth within the region.

At present, PGIN’s PESO offers seven (7) main programs, namely Saguip Nars, ‘Naruay a Panggedan’ Job Fair, Special Program for the Employment of Students, MDG Caravan, the PGIN Jobstart-Work Readiness Program, the 'My Skills IN My Future (Career Guidance Counseling), and the WorkINIlocosNorte.ph-Online Job Portal.

"It is a great pleasure to receive this award once again. This recognition not only acknowledges the award itself but also recognizes the exceptional initiatives implemented by PGIN-PESO," Mrs. Anne Marie Lizette B. Atuan, Officer-in-Charge of PESO, remarked.

Mrs. Atuan also expressed her gratitude to Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc's leadership for his commitment to creating employment opportunities for the people of Ilocos Norte.

Ilocos Norte recorded an increase of almost 20,000 employed individuals in 2022 compared to figures in 2021. At present, Ilocos Norte has an estimated 350,000 employed residents.

Meanwhile, the PESO of the Municipal Government of Bacarra received the “2022 Best PESO” award in the 2nd-3rd Class Municipality Category.     

PGIN remains committed and intends to further strengthen its employment services and programs, in collaboration with various stakeholders, to empower the workforce and foster a prosperous future for Ilocos Norte.
