Ilocos Norte Capitol light-up kicks off ‘23 “Paskuami Ditoy” celeb

Agarpao, PGIN-CMO InternsThe Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), headed by Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, led the Ilokano community in welcoming the holiday season through a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and light-up of the Provincial Capitol in Laoag City, on December 7.
This year’s light-up featured a giant tree decorated with various ornamental garlands complemented with inabel Christmas balls, flashing lights, and Belen sculpture.
Gov. Marcos Manotoc lauded everyone who contributed to its realization, recognizing that the Christmas tree display has always been one of the tourist attractions for everyone, especially for Ilokanos.
He hopes that the Ilokano community enjoys the holiday season with joy and gratitude, upholding the Christmas spirit alive among their families.
Meanwhile, 1st District Congressman Sandro Marcos, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan led by Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos, municipal mayors and vice mayors, and other government officials attended the light-up.
The harmonious melodies of Northwestern University Saguday Chorale, graceful movements of the Mariano Marcos State University Bin-i Dance Troupe, and the amusing performance of comedian stars Amazing Peanut and Justine Tan were some of the highlights of the event.
Following the light-up will be the Ilocos Norte Coffee and Food Festival at Paoay Church Complex on December 13 and 14, Cebu-Ilocos Norte Inaugural Flight with Philippine Airlines at Laoag International Airport and Mini Himala sa Buhangin at Suba Sand Dunes, Paoay on December 15, Buy IN Holiday Bazaar at Sirib Mile, Laoag City on December 22 and 29, and New Year Fireworks Display at bypass road, Laoag City on December 31.
